When I was 7, I wanted to be an inventor. At 13, a Quantum Physicist. That dream eventually landed me in a Physics Engineering degree — but then the COVID-19 pandemic changed my perspective entirely.

My work shifted toward what felt most urgent: mathematical modelling of infectious diseases, with a particular focus on children’s public health. I did my PhD with the BIOCOM-SC group at the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya, in collaboration with the paediatric research group COPEDICAT, studying how SARS-CoV-2 affected children and reshaped the dynamics of other viruses. Along the way, I casually stumbled into the causal world of pharmacoepidemiology.

I am currently a postdoc at Erasmus MC (Rotterdam) as part of the GREG project, working on real-world evidence generation for medicine and medical device evaluation across Europe.

One of the things I enjoy most about academic life is science communication and teaching — perhaps because of my love for writing. Outside the office, you will probably find me with a good book in hand, or a pencil and notebook, writing down story and poem ideas on the go.
